Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship
There are many routes into teaching, and the traditional PGCE course is not your only option. With Orange Moon Education’s flexible and customisable Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship (PGTA) programme, you can train while you teach and earn a salary at the same time.
Our PGTA is aimed at bridging the gap between aspiring teachers and their dream careers. It’s a 12-15 month teacher training programme with flexible entry points leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This fee-free, fully funded and salaried programme offers on the job training to graduates who want to pursue a career in teaching but don’t want to go down the traditional PGCE route.
It also gives schools, colleges and other education providers the opportunity to find and mould the right teachers and upskill their existing graduate support staff.

The programme comprises three stages, as follows:
STAGE 1
PRE-QTS
The most flexible element of the programme is designed to ensure all trainees are fully prepared to engage with the QTS programme.
STAGE 2
QTS
The second stage is designed to ensure the trainees meet all aspects of teaching standards to the highest quality possible.
STAGE 3
END POINT ASSESSMENT
Each trainee is thoroughly assessed and verified by an independent organisation to ensure they meet all aspects of the PGTA programme and they are competent, confident teachers.
