A level 6 early years qualification for the UAE

This is a level 6 qualification delivered by experts from the UK for Foundation Stage 2 Senior Leaders and Principles in the UAE

The Early Years Teaching and Leadership (Level 6) Qualification

This is a vocational qualification designed to enable owners, senior managers and principles to attain the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours at level 6 as required to manage early years settings in the UAE, in particular, foundation stage 2 (FS2)/Reception.

There are 2 pathways available:

Pathway 1: For principles and senior mangers

Pathway 2: For senior practitioners

Course Overview

The Orange Moon Education Early Years Teaching and Leadership course is an accredited level 6 programme designed specifically to meet the need of leaders, senior managers and principles of early years settings. It is delivered by a consortium of UK and UAE-based specialists in early years childcare and education and approved by Adek and KHDA*.

The course contains the following key modules:

Module 1


The most flexible element of the programme is designed to ensure all trainees are fully prepared to engage with the EYTS module.

Module 2

EYTS (Early Years Teacher status )

Module 2 is designed to ensure the trainees meet all aspects of the UK early years teaching standards to the highest quality possible.

Module 3

Early Years Leadership (FS2)

Module 3 will cover key aspects of leadership of an early years setting with foundation stage 2 in the UAE. The module includes sustained CDP on the new Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Course Details


  • The course duration is 12 months.

Course fees:

  • Fees are AED45,000 (£9,000). 


The course is delivered in the UAE by Orange Moon Education, a consortium of UK and UAE-based childcare and education training experts.

  • The course is delivered using a blended model using online teaching sessions, small group tutorials, and some face-to-face classroom sessions
  • You will be assigned a link tutor who will provide remote 1-2-1 support as required throughout the programme, and conduct observations of your practice in your setting.
  • You will be expected to spend a short amount of time in an alternative setting.
  • Online sessions are delivered via Microsoft Teams, all work is issued and managed using an e-portfolio which will contain your final portfolio of evidence.


  • You will receive a level 6 Early Years certificate from Orange Moon Education.
  • Your training will be recognised in the UAE as an overseas level 6 programme.
  • The training will be recognised in the UK as a full level 6, if you complete one of the conversion pathways (see below).

* It is anticipated that the programme will be formally approved in the UAE by Adek & KHDA by March 2022.

Entry requirements:

You should have at least:

  • GCSE grade 4/5 (grade C) or above in English, Maths and Science.
  • A full level 5 early years qualification OR an honours degree in any subject
  • 3 years paid work experience in employment in a school or early years setting

Progression options: (from £1,500)

In order for you to be a qualified teacher in the UK, you will need to receive Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the UK Department of Education. You will need to be assessed in a school in England and complete a further assessment. Orange Moon Education can convert your UAE programme into QTS through one of several pathways once you are in the UK.

  • Pathway to convert to level 6 Early Years Teacher Status in the UK. 
  • Pathway to convert to a Level 6 Primary Teacher (with QTS) in the UK, Ages 3 – 7 or 5 – 11
  • Pathway to obtain PCGE.

* Please note, you will need to be a graduate with a UK recognised degree to be eligible to enrol on any of the above UK conversion programmes.
